Both workshops explore story genres from Godly Play that are part of the “Playing in the Light” training. An opportunity to refresh, explore, and wonder together with the “whys” of how these stories are shared.

  • February 8: Sacred Stories: God coming so close
Sacred stories in the Godly Play collection include stories from both the Hebrew Bible and New Testament. We’ll explore the “nuts and bolts” of language and and materials in Godly Play, along with the theological approach to these stories in that collection and for us as Friends.

  • March 8: Parables: I wonder what this could really be?
Why are parables flat? One of the aspects of this Godly Play genre that we’ll explore! In addition to a refresher about how and why parables that Jesus told are part of the collection of stories in Godly Play, this conversation is also an opportunity to explore what other kinds of parables Friends might include on their story shelves.
