This spring, we’re thinking in new, creative directions. How are stories being shared with youth in schools, camps, other settings? If you have an idea for a story in the style of Faith & Play, how to explore that leading. What ideas for art and spiritual practice, etc. have Friends been including in response time materials. Come to share and learn together!

  • April 21: Sharing Stories with Older Youth
Friends school educators Jess Dundas (Friends School Hobart, Australia) and Megan Hegenbarth (Wilmington Friends School, Delaware) will share from their experiences with 12-18 year olds.

    • Where and how are Faith & Play stories shared with older youth?
    • Are there specific ways to adapt this approach to stories with older youth?
    • What considerations for story choices, facilitating the wondering, and response time (when applicable) can be identified for older youth?

  • May 21: Writing Stories in the Manner of Faith & Play
Since 2005, the development of Faith & Play Stories has been a joyful, Spirit-led collaboration. New stories are in development, and perhaps you have ideas to explore, too! We welcome working with Friends who have a leading to write and develop a story. In this workshop, we’ll explore the process and Advices and Queries for Creating Stories in the Manner of Faith & Play™.

  • June 17: Creating Space for Wonder — Ideas for Response Time
This gathering will be a “shareshop,” which is more sharing around the circle than a workshop. A space to think creatively about what can be made available during the continued wondering of response/work time. What art materials have been well received in your circles? What about other spiritual practices like finger labyrinths or settling jars? What are the “unspoken messages” of how we make materials available? Are things like books and blocks “OK?” There is always more wisdom in the circle — come and share from your experiences?
